Program: Business Recoded for The Economist
Client: CA Technologies
The challenge
Draw on the momentum of TEG’s App Nations program in 2016 and continue CA’s presence at the 2017 World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, SW.
The thought
An interactive story allowing the online and offline audience to gain insights into how apps and related technologies are rewiring society, and to make decisions about how business leaders should react. Insights from this phase influenced a complementary panel discussion at Davos.
Japan Recoded is a hypothetical scenario set in 2027 in which Japan has become the first country to ban human drivers altogether, forcing its automotive industry to either export or sell only fully autonomous vehicles. The story was conveyed via a long-form vodcast and essay. The Davos Business Recoded panel consisted of some of the top experts in their field, from MIT, Airbus, Standard Chartered, The Government of Canada, and CA. This allowed CA to spark a provocative discussion about how businesses should prepare as more industries are disrupted by technology.
How it counted
- The Japan Recoded microsite exceeded traffic expectations; with visits 77% and pageviews 85% over benchmark
- A successful Davos event inclusive of networking with notable attendees including the CEOs of Mitsubishi and Arcadis, amongst others
